Poker is not purely a game of chance. Anyone who has sat at a serious poker table knows how much situational reading, emotional control, and well-timed strategic decisions matter. Unlike slots or roulette, poker gives more skilled players a real long-term edge — which is exactly why many serious Malaysian players treat it as a craft to be developed, not just a form of entertainment.
PP96 caters to the full spectrum of Malaysian poker players. Beginners can ease in at micro-stakes tables with blinds as low as RM0.10/RM0.20 — a low-risk environment to learn, make mistakes, and improve. More experienced players will find real challenge at medium-stakes tables ranging from RM5/RM10 up to RM25/RM50. For those chasing bigger action, high-stakes tables are available with specific eligibility requirements to keep the competition fair.
Texas Hold'em remains the most played variant at PP96 — no surprise given its status as the most popular format worldwide. That said, we have noticed a growing number of Malaysian players exploring Omaha, particularly Omaha Hi-Lo, which adds a different dynamic by splitting the pot between two winners. For those who prefer fast-paced action, Fast Fold Poker and Short Deck are compelling choices — continuous action with no waiting, ideal for players with limited time who still want to squeeze in as many hands as possible.
Tournament poker at pp96 offers something beyond just winning money. There's a unique satisfaction in outlasting 200+ players in the Sunday Major to reach the final table — a feeling no other game can replicate. Our Daily Tournaments kick off every night at 21:00 MYT, while the Sunday Major stands as the most prestigious event on the weekly pp96 poker calendar, with a guaranteed prize pool of at least RM5,000.
New PP96 players are welcome to join the Sunday Freeroll at no cost. It's the ideal way to experience a real tournament atmosphere with zero financial risk — and you still have a chance to win cash prizes of up to RM500.

Many people come to poker assuming it's simpler than it actually is. They might have caught the World Series of Poker on TV, thought it looked straightforward, and jumped straight to a table without any preparation. The truth is, mastering poker takes years — but the right fundamentals can be picked up in a matter of hours, and they'll make a noticeable difference to your game right away.
The first thing to master is starting hand selection. In Texas Hold'em, over 70% of critical decisions are actually made before the flop — which hands you choose to play and how you play them from each position. New players often make the mistake of playing too many weak hands, which leads to unnecessary losses. The discipline to fold mediocre hands in early position is a skill that takes time to develop.
Table position is one of the most important factors in poker, and one that new players frequently overlook. Playing in late position — acting after your opponents — gives you a significant informational edge. You already know what they've done before you have to make your decision. Experienced players at pp96 regularly use positional advantage to pull off profitable blind steals and more precise c-bets.
Bankroll management is a topic widely discussed but rarely practiced. Poker experts recommend committing no more than 5% of your total bankroll to a single cash game table at any one time. For tournaments, a guideline of 2% of your bankroll per buy-in is considered safe. PP96 supports healthy bankroll management by offering a wide range of stakes, so there is always a table that fits within your limits.

For players who want a more authentic experience than standard computer poker, PP96 offers Live Dealer Poker — where you play Texas Hold'em against a real human dealer streamed in high-quality video. Watch the cards being dealt physically in front of you, interact with the dealer, and enjoy the feel of a real casino without leaving home.
This differs from regular poker in one key way — in the live dealer format, you play against the house, not other players. It's better suited for those who want an immersive visual experience without having to factor in opponent psychology. The odds and rules are fully transparent, and every round can be reviewed via video replay.
PP96 is committed to ensuring every aspect of your poker experience — whether at a standard table, in a tournament, or with a live dealer — is fair and secure. Our RNG system is regularly audited by an independent third party. All hand histories are logged and available for review at any time. If you have any dispute regarding a game outcome, our support team is ready to resolve it with full transparency.
Another area pp96 takes seriously is protection against collusion and the use of automated software (bots). Our detection technology continuously analyses each player's behavioural patterns. Any account suspected of engaging in dishonest practices will be investigated promptly, and funds in that account may be placed on hold during the process. We believe this is a necessary measure to preserve the integrity of the game for every member who plays fairly.
